Thyme is a small aromatic shrub. To grow, it needs full sun exposure, mild winters and sunny summers. It is commonly found in the Mediterranean and southern regions of Europe, Asia and North America.
The parts of the bush that are used for nutritional purposes, in addition to its medicinal use, either as a drink or as a spice, are the dried flowers as well as its leaves which, when dried and acquire a brown-green color, emit their characteristic aroma.
It is worth noting that thyme is particularly loved by bees. It is also one of the main ingredients of Benedictine liqueur.
